The sidewalks start up by the flag pole by the cafeteria. Every new class, a new section is poured. Most of the sidewalks are in front of the high school (that’s where mine is). They just keep adding more rows as more classes graduate. The school also includes names of students who passed away far too soon and never saw their graduation day

By each name, is a new penny marking that graduating year’s class. That section is my entire class. My sister’s name is somewhere near by and by the time all our kids graduate, who knows where they’ll pouring at! there’s a lot of grass out there, so I don’t think they’ll run out any time soon.

I decided that was weird to say.

Then had a brilliant thought. NEW DRESS.

Then I had another brilliant through. WITH MATCHING NEW SHOES.

What’s your 30 dress and shoes look like? I’m on the hunt for mine!

Nearly 4 hours later, we have our first gingerbread house!

weird snowmen. I hope our Elf eats those guys during the night. they’re freaking me out.

The Back:

What’s the new book about? I’m not sure what all I can share, so I’m going to keep this short. Country, small-town and Southern but the fun new part? it’s LONG!! Right now before we go into edits, it’s 90,000-words. Several readers have mentioned wanting me to go longer and I have listened! So I’d like to welcome you to the new town of Bella Warren, Arkansas. I’m going to take you to a small family run fruit and vegetable farm. There’s some romance, there’s some scared feelings about facing the past, and a lot of hope for the future!

I think everyone’s favorite part so far is the heroine, Kara, cans jam. I have to tell you, as a canner, I’m thrilled about that! I was afraid many would find it old-timeish and that’s sad because canning is so awesome. While my hero’s most important role (other than trying to sweet talk Kara!) is keeping the farm in shape and the produce growing, Wade also invents tractor parts. His family is like Henry Ford in the tractor world.

And the title? I don’t know. I’m brainstorming some up now and that’s what started this post! Have you ever heard of wordle.net? It could just be me behind on the times, but I loaded part of my manuscript in there and it spit out this neat graphic!

me to the husband as I patted my belly: Today I finished off the pecan pie, the 4-layer, the dressing and the cranberry sauce. Yesterday I wiped out the sweet potatoes.

He looked more grossed out than proud, but we can’t please them all! after posting the 4-layer on twitter/facebook, I was asked for the recipe so here we go! From my momma’s recipe to you!

(whoops! I forgot the image when I posted!)

1 1/2 sticks of butter (and by this I mean Country Crock. not real-real butter. it won’t turn out. we’ve tried)
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 cup nuts, chopped (pecans are good)
1 (8oz) package of cream cheese
1 cup confectioners (aka powdered) sugar
1 large tub of Cool Whip
2 small boxes of INSTANT chocolate pudding. (no cook’n serve!)
3 cups milk
finely chopped nuts and/or grated Hershey bar (optional for looks)

Layer #1: Melt butter. Add flour and nuts. Mix and flatten into a 13 x 9 x 2 cake pan. Bake about 15minutes at 375* (until light brown). COOL COMPLETELY.

Layer #2: Whip softened cream cheese, sugar and 1 1/2 cups of cool whip. Spread on top of Layer #1

Layer #3: Mix pudding and milk and pour over second layer. Regrigerate until pudding sets, about 30 minutes.

Layer #4: Spread remaining Cool Whip over #3 layer, then psrinkle top with nuts and/or grated chocolate!

Husband: Runners are long and lean. I’m not built like a runner.

Me while popping a starburst: me neither. I’m built like Marilyn Monroe. I should lay around on a couch and let people take pictures of me.
